Knitting away when I realized that the needle I was using was a DPN resulting in over half of the row sliding off the other end. Luckily I saved the stitches and they are back where they belong!
And yes, this is your homework-figure out what a DPN is?
A double pointed needle....sigh, this has happened more than once to me and I wasn't so lucky as to be able to pick up the stitched. But I certainly got to know my pattern real well.
