Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday. This year, we decided to try something different and had a boneless leg of lamb. Rob and Emily made savory bread, roasted root vegetables, sauteed brussel sprouts, and focused on the cooking of the lamb. I made butternut squash soup, spinach-strawberry salad, and two pies (grasshopper and chocolate chunk pecan). We really enjoyed the dinner especially with the bottle of wine Anna and Josh had gotten me in September...a Chilean wine that was super good!!!! As you can tell by the picture, we did not go hungry. And if you want to know what Emily is holding, it's butter in the shape of a turkey.....
P.S. We did play a rousing game of dominos. And even though Rob had to absent himself for three rounds to attend to the prepping of the lamb, etc...I wish to call attention to the fact he had to leave the table ONLY AFTER I went out on my first play and he got stuck with 217 points!!! When he finally returned to the table, he only played one additional hand before LOSING at 501 points. And as if you had to ask...yes, I won!!!!!
